Why do I need to translate my drivers licence?

If your overseas driver licence isn't in English, the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) legally requires you to have an official English translation of it when driving in New Zealand or to convert your overseas licence to a New Zealand licence.

This translation must be produced by an NZTA approved translator like us.

Why do I need to translate my birth certificate or marriage certificate?

The New Zealand government may require you to provide official English translations of these documents

They are legal documents that may be important for other application processes, such as applying for a job.

Why do I need to translate my school reports?

When immigrating from an overseas country, if a student wants to enrol in a New Zealand high school or university, the educational institution may require an English translation of their overseas school reports or qualification certificates as part of their application process.

Why do I need to translate my death certificate?

If a widow or widower wants to remarry in New Zealand, the New Zealand government may require the translation of their deceased spouse's death certificate as proof of the end of that marriage.

Another example where a translation of death certificate may be useful is providing proof that you are the inheritor of the deceased person's estate.
